Trachycarpus fortunei is native to China. Its main characteristics include

    • It is an excellent palm to keep in a container
    • Although it is drought tolerant, it prefers cool, moist environments and rich and well-drained soil to thrive
    • Mature plants can reach a height of 15 metres and a width of up to 2 metres
    • The trunk remains covered by a dark brown fibrous material and persistent leave bases for years
